Renewables Obligation: Fuel Classification Flow Diagram

Guidance

This fuel classification flow diagram is to be used by operators, auditors and interested parties to help them classify fuels under the Renewables Obligation. The aim of this flow diagram is to provide additional clarity on the classification of fuels under the RO and allow greater transparency on processes and decisions, and ensure greater consistency across fuels, operators and schemes.

Our response document explains to stakeholders the changes that have been made to the final version of the fuel classification flow diagram since the draft was published for consultation on the 3rd March 2016. It also details the main questions raised in the responses and our comments on these.

This document was updated on 24 April 2018 in order to take into account changes made in the Renewables Obligation (Amendment) Order 2017 for bioliquids, wastes and residues.
