Decision:
At RIIO-ET2 Final Determinations, National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) were provided funding in its baseline allowance to deliver substation works at the Melksham substation to connect a customer at the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, with a delivery date in its electricity transmission licence of 31 December 2024.
Due to delays completing Hinkley Point C by the developer, NGET has postponed completion of the Melksham substation works until 2028 to align with the revised forecast completion date.
This is a statutory consultation to modify the delivery date in Special Condition 3.13 Large Onshore Transmission Investments Re-opener of NGET’s electricity transmission licence.
