Our REMIT Procedural Guidelines and REMIT Penalties Statement set out how we use our powers to enforce REMIT and how we determine penalties for REMIT breaches.
In 2021 we published a consultation on changes to both documents, as part of a wider review of Ofgem’s approach to enforcement.
Having carefully considered all of the consultation responses received, we have decided to implement in full the changes we consulted on for both documents.
The revised versions of both documents reflect changes in Ofgem’s wider approach to enforcement, necessary amendments to reflect the fact that the United Kingdom has left the European Union, and revisions to make REMIT processes clearer and more efficient.
This document sets out the reasons for our decision. The revised REMIT Procedural Guidelines and REMIT Penalties Statement are available to view in the annexes below. Both documents come into force with immediate effect.
