Offshore Transmission Network Review – Multi-Purpose Interconnectors: Minded-to Decision on interim framework

We previously consulted on this topic in July 2021 to gather evidence and stakeholder views on how Ofgem could facilitate Multi-Purpose Interconnector (MPI) projects in the near term, within the current legal framework. This previous consultation sought views on the configuration and usage patterns of MPI models proposed to us by industry, MPI asset classification, licencing, regulatory and commercial barriers, and market arrangements.

Informed by stakeholder views and internal analysis, this publication sets out our minded-to decisions (where relevant) on these areas and we welcome feedback from stakeholders.
