Ofgem is investigating whether Community Energy Scheme UK Limited (CES) has contravened consumer protection legislation through its sales and customer service practices.
CES installs solar photovoltaic panels on the roofs of social housing in Stoke-on-Trent and sells the electricity from these panels to the tenants.
The investigation will consider whether CES breached consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
The opening of this investigation does not imply that we have made any findings about regulatory contraventions by CES.
