The Consumer Bills and Communications Roundtable Group (CBCRG) is a working group that has been established to look at the broad range of information and communications that energy customers receive. The group comprises representatives from Ofgem, Citizens Advice, Consumer Futures, Department of Energy and Climate Change, Energy UK, Energy UK affiliates and non-affiliates, and Which?
The CBCRG reviews the effectiveness of consumer bills and communications, looking at the key messages they are intended to convey. The group discusses opportunities for clarifying, and reducing the amount of, information contained on bills and communications.
The group’s proposals for improving consumer bills and communications are shared with government, Ofgem, suppliers and other relevant parties. In addition, the group identifies where legislative requirements concerning consumer bills and communications are restrictive, and where improvements can be made to current practice.
The group also provides a platform for sharing research and evidence relating to consumer bills and communications, in the interests of better understanding what is effective for consumers.
