What we are looking for

You must have at least a 2:2 degree (obtained or expected) in a numerical, analytical, energy or business-related discipline. This includes but is not limited to:

  • economics
  • engineering
  • business
  • public policy
  • finance
  • geography
  • sciences
  • climate science
  • computer sciences
  • other energy or sustainability-related subjects

If you are applying for the performance management business analyst within the Digital Graduate programme you may well have studied humanities, social science or journalism.

About the programmes

If successful, you will be offered a two-year fixed term contract, starting from September 2024. During the two years, you will complete four rotations of six months, depending on which programme you have applied for.

During the Ofgem Graduate programme you will rotate across the different work areas:

  • policy and strategy
  • analysis
  • compliance and enforcement
  • operational delivery or project delivery professions

Successful Ofgem Digital Graduate programme applicants will only work within the Digital Delivery and Technology profession.

At the end of the programme you may be offered the opportunity to apply for a permanent position, dependent on your performance and the availability of a suitable role within the organisation.

You will be fully supported by your own development lead with the support of the Professions Leads, HR and all your colleagues. You will have access to a varied training programme – each rotation will include professions specific in addition to the central development programme which all graduates will undertake. To ensure that you develop a diverse set of skills and help you reach your full potential.

Benefits

We offer an attractive package including a competitive starting salary of £32,500 for those based in London and £29,500 for those based in Glasgow or Cardiff alongside a range of other benefits.

Application process 

Complete the online application form on the Ofgem career portal. You will also need to include your CV.

If successful you will be invited to a video interview. This will not be an interview with a panel, instead we have recorded the questions so that you can answer them at a time that is convenient for you. You can use your mobile, tablet or laptop.

Successful candidates at video interview stage will be invited to complete an online test. This stage helps us ensure our graduates demonstrate proficiency in numerical, logical and critical reasoning skills or for those applying for the Digital programme your technical skills.

Our final stage of the process is an assessment centre which will be held virtually from 6 May 2024. If you’re invited to attend, you will complete some exercises on the day. The types of exercises will include an interview and presentation as well as a scenario and group exercises. This is a great opportunity for you to meet us, find out more about our business and also ask questions to our previous graduates.
