Since 2014, Ofgem has undertaken an annual survey to monitor domestic energy consumers’ engagement in the energy market. This presentation summarises the results from the 2019 survey.

In 2019 the survey covered consumer switching and comparison behaviours, consumer confidence to source and locate energy deals, perceptions of the switching process and how they go about engaging in the market. New questions were added looking at the impact of suppliers exiting the market on consumer engagement as well as questions to understand consumer openness to changing when they consume energy.
