Settlement reform update

To contact the team email: halfhourlysettlement@ofgem.gov.uk

Please note we have changed the way we refer to our project. Our work on examining if, when and how to mandate suppliers to settle customers half-hourly on a market-wide basis now falls under the heading of ‘market-wide half-hourly settlement’ (rather than ‘mandatory half-hourly settlement’), as we feel this improves clarity. This began with the publication today of the Project Objectives and longlist options for the Business Case.

Settlement reform highlights

  • Business Case: We have published a document outlining the project objectives and long-list options for the Business Case. This document explains the process undertaken so far to narrow down this long-list to a short-list of options for assessment. This includes information on the options that we are considering on access to data for settlement.
  • Reminder - Business Case and role of supplier agents RFIs: the deadline for submissions to both of these is Friday, 29 September 2017. Please email your submissions to halfhourlysettlement@ofgem.gov.uk
  • Teleconference: Our second stakeholder teleconference will take place on Monday, 18 September 2017, 2.30-3.30pm.  If you have not already registered to participate in the call please email halfhourlysettlement@ofgem.gov.uk
  • Stakeholder workshop: We are planning to run a stakeholder workshop in London on Monday, 30th October 2017 (more details to follow).
