The Capacity Market Advisory Group (CMAG) has been established to enable the CM Rules change process to become more dynamic and adaptive to changing market conditions. CMAG should also increase transparency and promote collaboration between industry parties when developing, scrutinising, and prioritising CM Rules changes.

As part of our decision to establish CMAG, we invited expressions of interest for membership of CMAG. Following careful consideration of the applicants, we are pleased to announce the inaugural CMAG membership will be:

  • Citizens Advice, Ed Rees
  • Drax Group, Claire Sedgewick
  • E.ON, Brian Lake
  • Energy UK, Sophie Lethier
  • Engie, Libby Glazebrook
  • Flexible Generators Group, Lee Priestley,
  • Flexitricity, Claire Addison (Emma Burns covering until 2023)
  • National Grid Ventures, Mark Duffield
  • Penso Power, Richard Thwaites
  • RWE Supply and Trading, Raoul Thulin
  • The Association for Decentralised Energy, Sarah Honan
  • Uniper, Paul Jones

Following the approval of BSC Modification P440, Elexon will maintain and operate the CMAG processes and, in its secretariat role, will be directly accountable to Ofgem. We anticipate the first CMAG meeting will take place this autumn. The CMAG processes and operating procedures are currently being developed and these will be shared with industry in due course
