Decision

We are consulting on changes to the standard conditions of the electricity and gas supply licences to introduce a new licence condition that gives us the power to direct suppliers to test consumer engagement measures. This consultation follows recommendations made by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) resulting from its investigation into the energy market.

We propose to implement the CMA’s recommendations in full. With the proposed changes we aim to increase consumer engagement in the energy market and promote competition and innovation between retail energy suppliers.
