The FAB Link project is being jointly developed by FAB Link Limited and RTE. It will be an electricity interconnector between Exeter, Great Britain and the Cotentin peninsula, France, via the Channel Island of Alderney. Ofgem’s cap and floor regulatory regime applies to the GB portion of the cost and revenues of the project (65% share).
On 4 March 2022, we published our positive needs case reassessment for FAB Link, with their continued retention of the cap and floor regime being conditional on FAB Link Limited presenting to us, by the end of July 2022, a clear pathway to regulatory approvals in France.
This publication confirms to FAB Link Limited, and wider stakeholders, that the project developers have satisfied the conditionality of the 4 March decision. This means that FAB Link retains its cap and floor regime in principle.
