This project is part of our Third Party Intermediaries (TPI) programme which examines the role of TPIs and the appropriate regulatory framework in the domestic and non-domestic energy retail markets.
This document examines key issues and sets out our proposals to enhance current regulations to protect the interests of existing and future business consumers engaging with TPIs. We are proposing to place a licence obligation on suppliers to only work with TPIs who are accredited to an industry-governed code of practice.
The proposals included in this consultation include key feedback from the six workshops we held over the course of 2013 to develop a draft Code of Practice for non-domestic TPIs and also feedback from the ‘Third Party Intermediaries : exploration of market issues and options’ consultation published in June 2013.
Due to requests for more time to respond, we have extended the consultation period until Monday 30 June 2014.
