This document contains Ofgem’s response to Government’s 'Proposals for heat networks zoning' consultation.
We set out a number of issues for government to consider to ensure that heat networks customers within zones benefit from the same protections that will be in place for other heat network customers as we make the transition to net zero. We highlight areas of potential consumer impact such as the requirements of the Zoning Coordinator, protections for non-domestic customers and heat source owners, and interactions with the Local Area Energy Mapping and Planning (LAEMP) framework.
