Ofgem publishes decisions on COVID-19 related and smart meter allowances for energy price cap

Ofgem has published its decision not to include an additional allowance in the next cap period (October 2021 – March 2022) for debt-related costs relating to COVID-19.

Ofgem has also published its decision on updating the smart metering allowance (the Smart Metering Net Cost Change or SMNCC allowance) for credit and prepayment customers for the same price cap period.

The next adjustment of the price cap will be announced on 6 August 2021.
