The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) have issued a seven week consultation (29 June to 17 August 2016) on the Energy Company Obligation (ECO): Help-to-Heat transition year.

DECC are introducing a set of reforms to the ECO scheme and extending it for one year, from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018, in order to transition to a four-year scheme from 2018-2022. The consultation also invites stakeholder views on aspects of the high level design for this longer term scheme.

As administrator of the ECO scheme Ofgem E-Serve intends to respond publicly to DECC’s consultation and provide details on how we anticipate administering the ECO: Help-to-Heat transition year, where possible, based on the positions given in the DECC consultation document.

Following the government response to the consultation we will also consult on draft scheme guidance and run a programme of stakeholder engagement.
