NOTICE UNDER SECTION 6A(5) OF THE ELECTRICITY ACT 1989 OF THE GRANT OF AN ELECTRICITY INTERCONNECTOR LICENCE
Pursuant to section 6A(5) of the Electricity Act 1989 (“the Act”), the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (“the Authority”) hereby gives notice that on 9 September 2016, an electricity interconnector licence was granted under section 6(1)(e) of the Act to Aquind Limited (company number 06681477) whose registered office is situated at Ogn House, Hadrian Way, Wallsend, NE28 6HL, United Kingdom, authorising it to participate in the operation of the Aquind Limted interconnector, an electricity interconnector between Great Britain (Lovedean Substation, Waterlooville) and France (Barnabos Substation).

Construction of the interconnector is subject to separate planning processes including the obtaining of any consents or permits required from relevant authorities, including the relevant planning authority.
