About The Citizens' Energy Forum

EU legislation called The Third Package is focused on improving the operation of retail markets in order to yield benefits for both electricity and gas consumers.

To drive these issues forward, in 2007 the European Commission established the Citizens' Energy Forum (also known as the London Forum) as a regulatory platform to help deliver competitive, energy efficient and fair retail markets for consumers.

The Citizens' Energy Forum brought together national consumer organisations, industry representatives, national regulators and government authorities to work on key issues such as switching energy suppliers, user-friendly billing, smart metering, and protecting vulnerable groups.

Further information on the Citizens’ Energy Forum can be found on the European Commission website.
