Energy code timetable

Energy codes can be changed or updated, for example to remove specific requirements.

We approve or reject energy code modifications. The outcome and reason for each change is published in the list of Energy code publications.

You can get further information on proposed changes to energy codes on the Code Administration Code of Practice website.

Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC)

Elexon is the Code Administrator for the Balancing and Settlement Code.

P495: Establish criteria within BSC Section C which enables a Supplier to continue to register new MPANs post M14 on qualified MPIDs where they have an unqualified MPID which is to be retired.

Carbon Capture and Storage Network Code (CCS N Code)

The CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) Network Code body manages the CCS N Code.

Connection and Use of System Code (CUSC)

The National Energy System Operator (NESO) is the organisation responsible for the Connection and Use of System Code.

The Energy Networks Association is the body responsible for the Distribution Code.

Electralink is the body responsible for the Distribution and Use of System Agreement.
