Projects under the transitional tender rounds are those that qualified into the tender process by 31 March 2012 and specifically have transmission assets that were constructed by the offshore developer, then transferred to the Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO).
We commenced the first transitional tender round (TR1) on 22 July 2009.
After the completion of all the projects in TR1, an independent report was commissioned to determine the benefits generated. We then undertook a consultation which concluded that the competitive tendering of offshore transmission assets under TR1 saved consumers between £200m and £400m.
