RIIO stands for Revenue = Incentives + Innovation + Outputs. The RIIO-1 price control for electricity distribution is due to end on 31 March 2023.
This open letter consultation sets out the context for the development of RIIO-ED2 and the proposed framework for the price control. We are seeking views from stakeholders on the key issues that need to be addressed through the price control. We also welcome input on how the price control arrangements should adapt to accommodate the new and evolving expectations of what electricity distribution networks should deliver in return for the revenues they collect from customers. Among other things, this consultation considers how the price control should be set in the context of an increased focus on decarbonisation, digitalisation, and decentralisation.
We are keen to ensure that we get feedback from a wide range of stakeholders, and we have set out specific questions regarding the price control framework in this consultation.
