Price Cap – Disclosure arrangements for the Autumn 2021 consultations

In April 2021 we published consultations on setting the credit and Pre-Payment Meter (PPM) Smart Meter Net Cost Change (SMNCC) allowances. Given that our proposals rely on detailed modelling and analysis, we disclosed the key models and data that underpin our proposals alongside this via confidentiality rings, in order for stakeholders to fully understand them (“late-Spring disclosure arrangements”).

In our decisions on the credit SMNCC and PPM SMNCC allowances, published on 5th August 2021, we outlined that we intend to publish a short consultation in the Autumn to seek stakeholder views before confirming decisions on the SMNCC allowances for cap period eight (1 April to 30 September 2022) onwards (“Autumn Consultations”).

Further to this, we are offering an extension of the confidentiality rings from the late-Spring disclosure arrangements, so that the disclosed materials may be used to review the Autumn Consultations and subsequent decisions.

If you are already participating in our late-Spring disclosure arrangements, then please see the ‘Information for stakeholders already participating in the late-Spring 2021 disclosure arrangements’ document attached to this page. We will also contact you directly in due course.

If you are not already in participating in our disclosure arrangements but are interested or would like to find out more, please see the ‘Information for stakeholders not currently in the disclosure arrangements’ document attached to this page. Guidance is enclosed on our requirements, so should you choose, you will be able to enrol now on the same terms as the late-Spring disclosure arrangements.
