We work with the UK government, the National Energy System Operator (NESO) and network companies to transform how electricity projects are connected and generate power. These projects are related to electricity generation, storage and demand.

We make sure these connections are fair, efficient and benefit households and businesses. Our work includes:

  • introducing a new connections process that prioritises projects that are ready and needed

  • reviewing our regulatory framework that connects projects to transmission and distribution networks in England, Scotland and Wales

  • transforming demand connections to support economic growth, decarbonisation and a secure, reliable electricity system
