On 24 September 2019, National Grid Interconnectors Limited (NGIL) submitted the modified Access Rules and the modified IFA Charging Methodology for the IFA interconnector to the Authority for approval. The modifications are to the Access Rules that are applicable as long as the UK remains within the Internal Energy Market.
The Access rules set out the terms and conditions for access to, and including use of, the interconnector. The Charging Methodology sets out the methodologies for the calculation of charges imposed for access to and use of the licensee’s interconnector.
We have decided to approve the modified Access Rules and the modified Charging Methodology proposed by NGIL on the basis that they better achieve the relevant Access Rules and Charging Methodology objectives. The modified Access Rules and the modified Charging Methodology will enter into force 28 calendar days after they are published by NGIL.
This letter sets out our decision to approve the modified Access Rules and modified Charging Methodology for the IFA interconnector, including an outline of the necessary next steps. This letter also contains Directions approving the modified Access Rules and the modified Charging Methodology.
