We have decided to roll out the cap and floor regulatory regime to new near-term electricity interconnectors. This follows our May 2014 consultation on our proposals.
With immediate effect, we are opening the application window for projects seeking the cap and floor regulatory regime. Developers must submit applications by 30 September 2014 to be considered as part of this window. We have also decided that we will open a second application window for projects which may not be eligible to apply now or may benefit from delaying their application.
We have set out the application process and provided further clarity on the regime design in the decision letter. We have also updated guidance to developers for cap and floor submissions and included a summary of consultation responses. Individual responses are available on the consultation page.
