We have decided to direct a modification to the special conditions of National Grid Electricity Transmission’s licence in order to introduce the new Electricity System Operator (ESO) Reporting and Incentive Arrangements from April 2018.
The new arrangements aim to encourage the ESO to more proactively identify how it can maximise consumer benefits across the full range of its activities. More details can be found in our modification decision letter and our associated ‘Policy decision on the Electricity System Operator regulatory and incentives framework from April 2018’.
This page also contains the final version of a Guidance Document for the new ESO Reporting and Incentive Arrangements for 2018/19. This Guidance Document applies from April 1 2018.
