The application window for Cycle 6 of the Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) was open from 27 May 2026 to 24 June 2026.
This publication sets out the Alpha and Beta projects awarded funding through Cycle 6.
We accepted applications which met a range of innovation challenges across multiple rounds, which were:
- new innovation challenges: discovery and alpha
- round 4: alpha and beta phases
- round 5: discovery, alpha or beta phases.
Cycle 6 forms part of the Strategic Innovation Fund’s ongoing mission to enable innovative solutions that help prepare Great Britain’s (England, Scotland and Wales) energy networks for a net zero future.
