The application window for Cycle 5 was open from 26 January 2026 to 25 February 2026.
We accepted applications which met a range of innovation challenges across multiple rounds, which were:
- round 4: alpha and beta phases
- round 5: discovery, alpha or beta phases
Cycle 5 forms part of the Strategic Innovation Fund’s ongoing mission to enable innovative solutions that help prepare Great Britain’s (England, Scotland and Wales) energy networks for a net zero future.
