A ‘large installation’ is a solar photovoltaic (solar PV) and wind installation with a declared net capacity (DNC) greater than 50kW and a total installed capacity (TIC) up to and including 5MW, and all anaerobic digestion (AD) and hydro installations up to and including 5MW.

Closure of the FIT scheme
On 18 December 2018 legislation was laid before government which closes the FIT scheme to new applicants from 1 April 2019, barring some exceptions. 3. Agree declarations

How is my application processed?
- We send you confirmation of receipt by email within one working day of receiving your application. We’ll also ask for a number of pieces of evidence to support your application.
- You send us any supporting evidence by email or post.
- We review your application - It will go through at least two stages of review, assessed by one member of the team and then approved by another member of the team. If your application is complicated it will also be reviewed by a member of our technical team.
- You answer any questions we ask (usually by email).
- We grant accreditation once your deployment cap opens (see ‘What tariff will I receive?’ below) and confirm by email. If your cap is not open yet, we will email to confirm when we finish our review.
- Once you have been granted accreditation you contact your energy supplier (we call them your FIT Licensee) to start receiving FIT payments.
What tariff will I receive?
The number of new installations that can receive support under the FIT scheme each month is capped – we call these deployment caps. Applications for large installations are queued by the date and time the application was received by Ofgem.
