Decision

We are consulting on a proposal to modify the Vulnerability and Carbon Monoxide Allowance (VCMA) Governance Document.

We would like your views on proposed changes to the eligibility criteria of projects for the servicing, repair and replacement of essential gas appliances.

Who should respond

We would like views from gas network distribution companies.

Background

The VCMA is funding available to gas distribution network companies for supporting consumers in vulnerable situations. This funding is helps consumers to stay safe and warm by:

  • providing advice on energy
  • providing referrals or direct access to energy safeguarding measures
  • raising life-saving awareness around carbon monoxide safety

The VCMA Governance Document is issued and amended as per Special Condition 5.4 of the Gas Transporter Licence. It covers the regulation, administration, and governance of the VCMA.

See the latest version of the VCMA Governance Document.

Why your views matter

Your responses will help us to make the appropriate changes to the VCMA Governance Document. This will allow you to best support consumers in vulnerable situations within your network areas.

How to respond

Send your response to vcma@ofgem.gov.uk. This consultation closes for responses on Monday 9 December.
