We have taken the decision to update the Pensions Regulatory Instructions and Guidance (RIGs).

This decision follows our statutory consultation on these proposed changes that opened on 22 May 2026 and closed on 20 June 2026.

We received six responses to the consultation. We are publishing non-confidential responses alongside the decision. A summary of the issues raised by respondents and our responses is set out in the issues log.

Consultation description 

We propose to make modifications to Network Operator's Price Control Pension Costs - Regulatory Instructions and Guidance ("the Pension RIGs"). 

These proposed modifications are largely made for the purposes of clarifying the existing reporting requirements and include general updates to input data and parameters in advance of the 2026 Pensions Reasonableness Review.
