Proposals to strengthen the financial resilience of energy networks.
Consultation description
In November 2025 we published a consultation on proposed modifications to the ring fence licence conditions for gas and electricity networks. We think it is important we ensure networks are fit for purpose now and remain so as the environment changes.
After carefully listening to and considering the feedback received, we set out a statutory consultation on the associated licence modifications, alongside our policy conclusions and the purpose and benefits of any changes.
