This letter sets out our 2025 and 2026 workplan. It is an update to our previously published programme of work, outlining work we intend to carry out over the next 1-2 years. We recognise the importance of setting out a clear and transparent programme of work to manage expectations on the work we intend to carry out and provide confidence in our setting of the cap.
In this letter, we set out the wider strategic context and Ofgem’s work to support customers in the retail market, background on the framework for setting and updating the cap and an overview of delivered reviews. For our ongoing and upcoming work, we split the work plan across three key priorities: 1) Delivering the cap; 2) Adapting the cap for Market Wide Half Hourly Settlement; 3) Case for reform.
