Department’s decision on application (including details of any waiting period or other conditions
or restrictions applied):

Default restrictions apply

  • A restriction placed on any dealings with Ofgem, or wider government in the form of, for
    example, consultancy or lobbying.
  • A restriction on advising on a bid with, or contract relating to the work of, Ofgem.
  • In all cases, a restriction on drawing on any privileged information (as defined by Advisory Committee on Business Appointments) available to the applicant because of their role at Ofgem.

Rationale

  • The applicant has not had access to policy or other departmental information, knowledge of which could give the prospective employer an unfair advantage.
  • The applicant has a broad knowledge of Ofgem’s priorities as a standard part of being an employee in a senior role at this organisation. However, they have not been working on areas of policy with direct relevance to the new employer and they do not hold information that would specifically benefit the prospective employer.
