The Warm Home Discount (WHD) scheme annual report covers activity during the scheme’s eleventh year (SY11), with support delivered between 1 April 2021 and 31 March 2022. It details the achievements of participating suppliers against their obligations as well as providing information on incidents of non-compliance.

Highlights

  • During SY11 obligated suppliers spent over £359m supporting eligible low-income households by providing £140 rebates and through Industry Initiatives.
  • Low-income pensioners received just under one million rebates through the Core Group totalling more than £134.3m. A further 1.34 million customers who were in or at risk of fuel poverty received Broader Group rebates, which is nearly £187.4m in support delivered.
  • In SY11 suppliers spent £34.8m on Industry Initiatives which allowed suppliers to provide different types of support to fuel poor customers. In total, suppliers funded 40 different Industry Initiatives, including eight collaborations between suppliers.
  • There were 24 suppliers originally obligated under the scheme but seven exited the market before compliance with their obligations had been determined reducing the number of obligated suppliers at the end of the year to 17.
  • All suppliers were found to be compliant with their WHD scheme obligations during SY11.
