A number of suppliers failed to discharge their 2021-22 Renewables Obligations (RO) in full by the late payment deadline of 31 October 2022. We are currently completing our calculations and internal checks on late payments received and payments to be redistributed. We can however confirm that, under Article 72 of the Renewables Obligation Order 2015 and Article 48 of the Renewables Obligation (Scotland) Order 2009, a ‘relevant shortfall' has been reached. The shortfall amount will therefore be mutualised in respect of both RO (England and Wales) and RO (Scotland).
Further details, including the total shortfall, will be published on our website around the beginning of December 2022.
