This report outlines the methodology and results of an Ofgem research project, conducted in March – April 2021.

It utilised consumer research and behavioural science to understand the messaging approach needed to enable consumers to make an informed choice about potential changes to their data sharing arrangements, as a result of Market-wide Half-hourly Settlement (MHHS).

The purpose of this research was to provide empirical evidence to inform ‘good practice’ recommendations for suppliers to consider in communications to their customers.
