The Gas and Electricity Markets Authority ("the Authority") has confirmed its decision to impose a financial penalty on Npower for its failure to comply with SLC 25 with respect to the marketing of energy contracts to domestic consumers.

The investigation focused on alleged breaches of SLC 25 between November 2007 and April 2008.

The Authority found that Npower contravened the obligations set out in SLC 25.5 and SLC 25.10.

The Authority considered it appropriate to impose a financial penalty for these contraventions. The Authority decided to impose a financial penalty of £1.8 million on Npower.

Further details can be found in the final penalty notice.
