Outcome of changes to IGT UNC to enable UNC0887 ‘Facilitating Bi-Directional Connections Between IGT Pipelines and the NTS’.
Details of outcome
We approve the implementation of IGT UNC Modification 176. The approval of this modification will enable the implementation of recently-approved UNC Modification 0887, allowing for bi-directional gas flows between IGTs and the NTS. This should allow for a greater number of biomethane producers to connect to IGT networks, encouraging the expansion of Great Britain’s (England, Scotland and Wales) biomethane production capability.

IGT UNC 176 was raised by CNG Services Ltd on 19 March 2025. It seeks to facilitate the flow of gas from IGTs onto the NTS, thereby allowing bidirectional flows.
