NOTICE UNDER SECTION 6A(5) OF THE ELECTRICITY ACT 1989 OF THE GRANT OF AN ELECTRICITY INTERCONNECTOR LICENCE
Pursuant to section 6A(5) of the Electricity Act 1989 (“the Act”), the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (“the Authority”) hereby gives notice that on 20 December 2016 an electricity interconnector licence was granted under section 6(1)(e) of the Act to GridLink Interconnector Limited (company number 10181689) whose registered office is situated at 35 Great St. Helen’s, London, EC3A 6AP, United Kingdom authorising it to participate in the operation of the GridLink Interconnector Limited, a electricity interconnector between Great Britain (Kingsnorth Substation, Borough of Medway) in the United Kingdom and (substation to be built in the area of the Port of Durkirk) in France.

Construction of the interconnector is subject to separate planning processes including the obtaining of any consents or permits required from relevant authorities, including the relevant planning authority.
