Code modification description
CMP462 was proposed by National Energy System Operator (‘NESO’) on 24 October 2025 to address a defect following the 2025 panel election. This election resulted in no Alternate Panel Members. Such absence heightens the risk of CUSC Panel meetings failing to reach quorum. This could delay the progress of CUSC Modification Proposals.
CMP462 introduces a mechanism to allow a separate Alternate Election Process to be run where the CUSC election process has not resulted in the election of Alternate Panel Members.
The proposal was treated us urgent due to its significant commercial impact on parties, consumers and other stakeholders, with Ofgem approving urgency on 7 November 2025.
