Last month we published the total UK obligation of 130,183,968 Renewables Obligation Certificates  (ROCs). Since then, suppliers have presented 115,942,339 ROCs towards this obligation. The deadline to present ROCs was 1 September. Suppliers who did not meet their entire obligation through presenting ROCs will, between them, meet the approximate 14,241,629 ROC shortfall through buy-out and late payments. The deadline to make buy-out payments was 31 August, while the deadline for late payments is 31 October. Initial, unverified figures suggest that the outstanding obligation value as of 1 September was less than at the equivalent point in time in 2019.

We will confirm the amounts suppliers have made in buy-out payments, and what we have redistributed back to them, as soon as possible after we withdraw our administration costs in October. We will then confirm the amount of late payments made by suppliers and redistributed by us, together with the recycle value for the 2019/20 period once this information is available.
