We had previously stated that we will publish statutory consultations this month setting out proposals to change how we calculate the default tariff cap. The 18th May is now confirmed as the start date for the consultations. We will update the allowance for the impact on operating costs of installing smart meters, introduce a cap level to protect default tariff customers with a prepayment meter, and reassess the wholesale allowance in the first default tariff cap period.

The documents on this page set out the disclosure arrangements for those consultations and provide Undertakings.

If your organisation wishes to participate in the disclosure, please express your interest to retailpriceregulation@ofgem.gov.uk as soon as possible.
