Enforcement Overview 2016/17

In 2015 we published our first annual Enforcement Overview, as a means of improving transparency around our enforcement activities; we published our second in 2016.
We think that these overview reports have been an effective tool to show the impact and efficiency of our enforcement work, in line with our enforcement vision: that businesses put energy consumers first and act in line with their obligations.
We have now published this, our third annual Enforcement Overview, for the financial year April 2016 to March 2017. It provides an overview of:
• Investigations opened and other enforcement activities, including alternative action
• Completed investigations and performance
• Penalties and other remedial activity (including how consumers have benefitted from the various redress schemes initiated as a result of our activity)
• Enforcement priorities, current portfolio and other work
