In this letter, we set out our decision to approve National Grid Electricity Transmission’s (NGET’s) Demand Side Balancing Reserve (DSBR) and Supplemental Balancing Reserve (SBR) Operational Methodologies for operating balancing services in the rare event that there is insufficient capacity in the market to meet demand. We have considered NGET’s proposed methodologies, and are satisfied that the methodologies has been developed in line with the principles set out in Special Condition 4K.6 and 4K.8.
