Our RIIO-T1, RIIO-GD1 and RIIO-ED1 price controls are the first price controls to be carried out under the new RIIO (Revenue = Incentives + Innovation + Outputs) model.
RIIO is designed to encourage network companies to play a full role in delivering a sustainable energy sector, and to do so in a way that brings consumers value for money.
The price controls run for eight years and set out what the companies have committed to deliver and the revenues they are allowed to fund their services.
Reporting company performance
Each year, the transmission and distribution network owners must report to us on their performance. Where they have not performed we will take action.
As part of our performance monitoring, we publish an annual report. You can view previously published reports in the publications and updates list below.
Interactive network indicators
We additionally publish interactive charts and data covering our key monitoring themes on the Ofgem Data Portal. These cover information about the financial performance of the networks. They include the forecast rate of return for each company and their actual spending compared with what they were allowed in their price control agreements.
You can find out more about how the network fits together in our guide How the energy networks work for you.
