Following the success of our AI regulatory laboratory (AI ‘Reg Lab’) pilot in February 2025, we are now inviting submissions for the next AI Reg Lab taking place on Wednesday 2 October 2025.
Our AI Reg Lab is a table-top exercise that provides applicants with:
- a valuable opportunity to stress test their hypothetical or real AI uses against our current ethical AI use in the energy sector guidance and broader energy regulatory framework
- the chance to explore the potential risks and impacts of their AI use
- a guided discussion of the regulatory implications of the AI use with an independent panel of AI and regulatory experts
Who should take part
Energy sector companies and their innovation partners.
How to take part
We welcome submissions on a rolling basis for future AI Reg Labs via our Ofgem AI Reg Lab submission form.
To be considered for participation in the October 2025 AI Reg Lab, submissions must be received by 11.59pm on Wednesday 3 September 2025.
