Heat networks

By 26 January 2027, all existing heat networks must be registered with Ofgem using the ‘Comply with heat networks consumer protection regulations’ digital service.

You can use the service to:

  • register heat networks
  • add or update your organisation’s details
  • manage users

In future, you will have to use it to submit regular data about your organisation and heat network.

Private beta testing

This service will be in private beta testing before being launched publicly. During this time, we are testing it with real users to make sure we provide a service that meets people’s needs.

We want heat network operators and suppliers to help us. Joining our private beta means you can:

  • comply with regulations early
  • give us vital feedback that we’ll use to develop a service you will interact with frequently

There will be opportunities to provide feedback as you use the service and when you have finished registering a heat network. We will review all the feedback we receive and identify where we can make improvements before the public launch.

If you register your heat networks during the testing phase, you will not need to register them again when we launch the full service.

Although the service is in a test phase, it is reliable to use and your data will be secure.
