This guidance document is for property owners looking to complete low carbon heating installations as part of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

Choosing the right guidance for your application
Version 5 Boiler Upgrade Scheme guidance for property owners is the current version and applies to all applications properly made on or after 28 April 2026.
Version 4.1 Boiler Upgrade Scheme guidance for property owners published on 09 April 2025, is available to view applies to applications properly made before 28 April 2026.
A voucher application is only considered ‘properly made’ once Ofgem has all the necessary information to assess eligibility, and you have provided consent and identity verification.
At redemption stage an application is ‘properly made’ when Ofgem has all the required information.
Where further information is requested, an application will not be consider properly made
