Outcome of a request from NESO to an alternative timetable for issuing connection offers under the Gate 2 to Whole Queue (G2tWQ) process.
Outcome
We agreed to an alternative timetable under condition E12.14(c) of the Electricity System Operator (ESO) licence, replacing the default 7.5‑month requirement with phased milestones aligned to the re‑baselined G2TWQ programme, communicated by Joint Industry statement by National Energy System Operator (NESO) on 13 February 2026 . This includes clear deadlines for Phase 1 and Phase 2 connection offers, as well as overall completion expectations.
The agreed approach provides clarity to stakeholders, supports deliverability, and ensures appropriate oversight by setting defined milestones, requiring regular progress reporting, and mandating early notification of risks or delays to enable timely regulatory intervention.
This re-baselined programme, Gate 2 connection offers would be issued on a batched basis over the course of 2026, with the final batch expected to be issued by mid-March 2027.
